Hello,
I have been looking into T314 R60 as vital for my family research. I found it contains 204 pdf files while the file at NARA should be around 1096. Acording to NARA several parts cover the I Korps data all the way to November 1943 while no info beyond June can be found on this file here. Am I doing something wrong?
We don’t have more than what’s in the file.
T-314 roll 206 (III.Pz.Korps late 43 early 44) c All of the frames are almost entirely white and imposssible read. Hopefully you can fix this.
Thank you so much for offering these rolls in good quality. Too many free rolls online have been ruined by over-compression to save space, especially frames with maps charts etc.
Sean
That’s the best copy available. Try to darken the frames with Photoscape or another software.
Someone keeps compressing files before sharing them, even today. Can’t understand why.
Yes I tried that of course, but there is almost no grey or black at all on most frames. None are readable. It’s crazy that someone would be so careless to do that. I’m sure NARA didn’t send it that way!
Thank you nonetheless!
Wanted to ask – are rolls 22 and 23 not linked or missing altogether? Thanks for the hosting this treasure trove of data!
Not there yet. Will eventually be available.
Hello, thank You for an excellent resource 🙂
Just wanted to let you know that the contents of T-314 R617 are wrong, it actually contains R618.
R617 file includes the 4 relevant folders, and they are not part of R618.
R618 itself is not complete though.
Hi there
Any news on T314 R1573 pls? If not, is there a bulletin board where I can beg for it?
Thanks for your site, it’s fantastic
It will be added soon, just for you. Make a gift 🙂
Like another birthday for me, thank you wonderful people on admin-WW2. Gift coming!
Hello
Do you have T 314R1602 ?
Thanks
Hello, link to R1065 look to go to the R165.
Have you the R1065 ? Thanks for all your work !
Hi there wonderful wiidigitalarchives!
Last time I begged you for T-314 R 1573, and you answer my beg.
Now I have to scrounge: any chance of getting T-314 R 539?
Simon
Hello,
Will the rolls 210-211 be uploaded in the future?
Regardless, thank you for all your shared files.
Sincerely,
Andrew
R210: not planed. R211: might eventually be.
These T-314 rolls unfortunately seem to be incomplete:
1171, 1175 (48 Pz Kps, Kursk and after)
1297 (52 AK, Kursk and after)
If anyone has good copies, please share!
They provide unique and important details about the ‘Kursk’ campaign 1943 which are unavailable anywhere else.
There are also a few Army and Division -level rolls which are also incomplete, and I’ll post their info soon. Thanks again,
Sean Oliver
Thanks. Can you specify what’s missing in them?
It would take time to determine exactly what is missing in each roll by comparing them with the NARA guidebooks, But checking the number of total frames in each roll, it is obvious that a part of each roll is missing, maybe up to several hundred pages.
These rolls (and many more I’ve seen) appear to consist only of specific sections of each roll, photocopied from a microfilm viewer, probably at NARA’s facility. Because this is time-consuming and tedious work, it appears only certain frames were photographed, not the whole roll. They don’t look like ‘official’ NARA copies. These also tend to be low quality compared to newer digital copies, with a lot of dust and fibres plainly visible, typical of microfilm viewers. Many of the frames’ number on top was cut off, and some have many frames lined up side by side as a single JPEG. They may have been copied decades ago.
The big problem besides quality is this: Anyone who might have complete 4 GB copies of the same rolls, and willing to share them, will look online and see the roll is already available free, and believing the roll is good quality and complete, they don’t bother sharing their much better copy.
There quite a few important rolls from Kursk/Zitadelle like these, and obtaining better copies would very welcome!
For example, T-315 roll 600 (11th Pz D July 43) has a number of unique aerial photos of Red Army entrenchments and positions prior to Operation Zitadelle. The roll available online looks like it was once a high quality NARA digital roll, but was compressed from 4 GB down to only 160 MB, which ruined all of the maps and aerial photos – an act of sheer thoughtless vandalism! But someone out there must still have the good 4 GB copy right (?).
Nevertheless, I’m sure all of us are thankful for the anonymous people who provided these rolls, (and the hosts of this website) since having a few docs is better than having none at all!
Thanks for reading this long message – SMO
All true. Still wondering who the hell cut off top/bottom and/or downsized rolls too much. It’s been at least 10 years since this stopped. Yes, some copies are really old.
